A material library only works if the next team — internal or client — can find the marble that was approved in March. We use boring names and strict versioning on purpose.
Naming
Project code, surface type, supplier reference if any, version. No “final_final_v3” in filenames that leave the studio.
Handover pack
Swatches, roughness notes, and one reference render per material at presentation exposure. Architects review faster than parsing shader graphs.
Partnership benefit
Long-term clients inherit libraries that compound. The tenth tower is faster because glass and concrete were solved once.
