Task:

Our client was developing a 410 m2 coworking space targeting a young, active demographic. The primary challenge was the building's layout. It was a long narrow space that risked feeling like a tunnel. Our task was to develop a conceptual design and workplace strategy to intelligently zone the space. We aimed to maximize the number of workstations (65 seats) while maintaining an airy open feel.

NEXT-GEN WORKSPACE

Modern office reception desk, frontal perspective.

To counteract the linear floor plan, our design concept abandoned sharp corners in favor of "flow." We introduced curved, organic partitions and walls. This approach creates a dynamic, engaging interior that echoes the building's exterior. Most importantly, this geometry improves spatial efficiency, allowing us to place more desks without blocking the path of travel.

The palette is a sophisticated blend of "warm" and "cold." We paired polished concrete floors and textured plaster with natural light wood paneling. This combination visually separates the zones: cool tones maintain a fresh, professional vibe, while wood adds essential coziness to the work areas.

A major challenge was the long, narrow shape of the building. To prevent a "tunnel" feeling, we strategically placed abundant indoor plants and utilized large windows to flood the corridors with natural light. This biophilic approach creates an airy, oxygen-rich environment that promotes well-being.

In a high-density open space, acoustic comfort is critical. We integrated sound-absorbing privacy booths throughout the floor plan. These upholstered cabins (highlighted in deep blue and green) allow for deep work or private calls, ensuring solitude even in a bustling environment.

We designed four fully equipped conference rooms to accommodate group work. To keep the narrow space feeling open, we utilized sliding doors with frosted glass. This solution offers necessary visual privacy for meetings while allowing natural light to pass through to the corridors.

Beyond formal desks, we created relaxed lounge zones with soft seating and round tables. These areas encourage informal collaboration and brainstorming, providing a comfortable alternative to the traditional conference room setup.

The open-plan workspace flows seamlessly into a 16-seat coffee break zone. We intentionally differentiated this area with bold, glossy blue tiled accents to signal its social function. Equipped with a high-top bar and comfortable furniture, it provides a vital space for decompression.

Even functional spaces contribute to the experience. The restroom zone features a calm waiting area and individual rooms with striking design details. We used unique illuminated, amber-colored sinks and rich blue tiles to make these small, practical spaces memorable.
